Dialing in my forms

Howdy y’all! I’ve recently been working a lot on trying to have a little more cohesion in my work, including exploring similar forms. This big pot used about 8 lbs of clay and mirrors a similar smaller pot I made for the soda workshop I did a few weeks ago with Ryan McKerley.

This shape heart shape and approach to the mouth is inspired by Pueblo pots which are traditionally made handcoiled. I love these heart shapes! I’m excited to make these huge decorative vases. I know people want mugs and stuff but I love making vases lol.

Update: This pot didn’t make it through trimming. Sometimes you just don’t have a good day centering and trimming feet. 😩
